Paul trained as a ballet dancer at the Urdang Academy and at Central School of Ballet, and shortly after graduating he gained a contract as an apprentice with the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, where he danced in many of the well-known classical ballets and in many operas. After 2 years Paul decided he would prefer to pursue an academic career and returned to the UK to study ecology at King’s College, London. During this time, he continued to perform occasionally with London City Ballet, both on tour and at Sadler’s Wells in London.
Working for the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority for over 22 years, he has continued his involvement in theatre with Brecon Festival Ballet, the Westenders Pantomime Society and Mid Wales Dance Academy, where he now teaches the boys classes and the new Junior Vocational Training Class. Paul is a qualified Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Coach and Youth Training Specialist, providing S&C coaching for MWDA students in their Ballet Bootcamp class, and is experienced in S&C coaching for elite sports and dance.
