Performances

An annual dance showcase is staged at Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon at the end of the summer term. Run in exactly the same way as a professional show, this is always a highlight in the year's programme of events and plays to packed houses. Early booking is highly recommended.

During these shows pupils perform a range of dances, often based around themes. Pupils have also danced well known ballets such as 'The Nutcracker', 'Swan Lake', 'Giselle', and 'Coppelia'

The younger members of the school often perform their own junior ballet, such as 'Thumbelina', while the vocational and senior students undertake the mammoth task of performing often original choreography to a professional standard.

We believe that giving pupils the opportunity to perform in a full scale show to large audiences teaches them values such as confidence, discipline, and the importance of rehearsal and team work.

External companies

Pupils also occasionally have the opportunity to take part in other professional productions at the theatre, at the request of visiting companies.

To date, pupils have had opportunities to dance alongside Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Covalev, perform in annual pantomimes with Owen Money, as well as showcasing dances alongside touring professional dance companies.

Parents Watching

In addition to our shows, there are several opportunities for parents to watch classes during the year, and we often invite parents to watch classes to raise money for Children in Need. These opportunities will be advertised during the term.
