Modern / Jazz
This discipline combines Modern dance, Jazz dance and other dance styles to train versatile dancers in a more liberated style, often required by today's choreographers. Modern dance cannot sustain a permanent definition since it adapts, develops and evolves with the dance fashions of the day.
Ballet develops the core strength necessary to equip the modern dancer for movements that challenge the controlled use of limbs, gravitational pull and suspension of movement, whilst Modern/Jazz develops strength and flexibility in these movements. It is therefore recommended that pupils take this class in addition to their ballet class.
Children are accepted for this dance discipline from the age of seven.
