Paul Sinnadurai
Senior School Ballet Teacher After completing his training at Central School of Ballet, Paul danced with the Bavarian State Ballet and London City Ballet. A member of the Association of Russian Ballet and Theatre Arts, he delivers training for ARBTA's Teaching Certificate in Classical Ballet, is a Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Coach, as well as S&C Nutritionist, Youth Training Specialist and ballet teacher.

Helena Barnard
Ballet & Tap Teacher Helena's passion for dancing has spanned many years. She started ballet at the age of 4 in Bedfordshire with Sheila Coxhill, where she worked through the grades of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. As she progressed, she developed an interest in Tap and Modern, and was eventually given the opportunity to choreograph work of her own for individuals and groups.​ Helena is a fully qualified RAD and ARBTA teacher, and works within both the Junior School and Senior School.

Evie Jones
Junior School Ballet Teacher Eve started dancing with Mid Wales Dance academy when she was 4. She eventually left when she was 18 to study at university where she gained a degree in counselling and a masters in youth and community work. Eve also gained her community dance leaders’ certificate allowing her to teach all forms of dance in the community and in schools; and she is also a qualified DDMIX teacher. "It is very exciting to be back in Mid Wales Dance Academy but this time as a teacher. I am looking forward to seeing how the children develop and working with them towards exams and shows."

Bethan Cooper
Senior School Ballet Teacher Bethan is a Dance Artist and Pilates teacher based in Powys. She trained at MWDA from the age of 3 before studying contemporary dance at Trinity Laban. Since then, she has performed as a corps de ballet and Spanish soloist with Brecon Festival Ballet, worked as a company dancer with Impelo, and toured internationally with Osian Meilir’s 'Qwerin' - appearing at festivals, biennales, and even the Rugby World Cup. Alongside performing, Bethan is passionate about community and inclusive dance practice. She works in schools through the creative curriculum, delivers dance and movement sessions for adults with additional needs, and is active in arts and health settings including dementia-friendly projects and work centred on Welsh culture and heritage. Bethan holds a Level 4 Dance Teaching qualification with BBO Dance and has recently completed further training with the Association of Russian Ballet & Theatre Arts.

Penny Hughes
Pianist Penny gave up a very successful soloist career to play for her first love, Ballet.  While in London she played for several ballet schools and was also an extra pianist with the Sadlers Wells Ballet Company, now Birmingham Royal. ​ In 1990 she moved to Wales and now plays for several RAD schools as well as several Cecchetti Schools.  She is one of the associate pianists with the Royal Ballet School in Bath as well as the South Wales Cecchetti Association for which she writes the music for all the exercises for their annual awards.  She also plays for three choirs and has a large teaching practice.

Olivia White
Street Dance Teacher Liv started dancing at the age of 4 in London then moved to Wales and continued her training with Mid Wales Dance Academy. Liv was trained by Sue White in Street Dance and Musical Theatre and has now been working alongside her for over 3 years. In addition, Liv is a trained exercise to music instructor and a qualified chaperone.

Tegan Barnard - Cayless
Junior School Teacher Tegan trained with Mid Wales Dance Academy until she was 19, when she gained a place at London studio centre, where she majored in Classical Ballet Studies. Tegan has now returned to MWDA junior school as part of the teaching team.
